Video game that draws on characters from its namesake franchise
Windows 7 / Windows Vista / Windows XP / Windows 8
Pokémon: Generations was first developed to be a 3D version of the popular role-playing game from the Pokémon brand. The game was fully inspired by those famous characters, and it includes a number of interactive features that make it worth playing. There are both single player and multiplayer modes, and the main goal in both modes is to collect Pokémon in order to complete a Pokédex, just like the original game. This version also allows players to collect, battle, and trade Pokémon in order to become the very best.
Unfortunately, this game is no longer supported by the developer, which means it no longer receives updates. Players are still able to download, install, and play the game, but there is no guarantee the game will operate as it should. Hardcore fans of the original Pokémon games will be drawn to the expertly modeled creatures and the multiple player modes.
Unlike other Pokémon games, this one is not sanctioned by Nintendo, so it is essentially a relic from the time when such games were possible. The game wasn't designed with the same comprehensive instructions that the other Pokémon games were made with, so players have to learn the combat system on their own, and there are other limitations to the gameplay that reduce the entertainment value of it. However, fans of the series who have the time to give the game a try are encouraged to do so.
